Mazepin has been making a lot of headlines lately. More and more people are expressing themselves negatively about him and sponsors are jumping off in a row. But will this stop Haas from signing the former Formula 2 driver?
Will Nikita actually drive in Formula 1 next season, or has his career, which has not even begun, evaporated before it even started? A lot of people are asking themselves this question right now and no one except the driver and Haas himself know the answer. So that means continuing to speculate. Here are a few reasons why, in my opinion, Mazepin should by no means drive in Formula 1 next season:
- punching other F2 driver (Callum Ilott) into the face
- sexual assaulting woman and asking underaged girls for nudes
- making fun of Covid19
- racist remarks towards other drivers -> Yuki Tsunoda(who will be driving for Alpha Tauri next season) and some more
- suggesting he could out a driver
- dangerous driving -> he earned multiple penalties for it and almost got himself a race ban in the last race of the season, because of that
The question would then be. Who would replace Mazepin, would his career really come to such a sudden end? After all, there are enough options. In addition to Callum Ilott, who was initially considered the most likely candidate for the Haas seat, just signed a contract with Ferarri as a substitute driver a few weeks ago. So the question arises: Hulkenberg (who has shown a great performance in his two outings this year at Racing Point), Fittipaldi (who has already contested the last races in the Haas car instead of Grosjean) or someone completely different? We may not find out the answer to that for a few weeks or months, but I remain excited and hope for the best. I´m pretty sure that Formula 1 would receive a lot of criticism by hiring such a driver. Because such an approach should by no means be supported or ignored by anyone.
We are also all aware that Mazepin got his seat mainly because of the money his father invested in the Haas team. Now I would be happy if you would share your opinion on the subject with me and say goodbye for today.

By the way, I will go into the aforementioned incidents and describe them in more detail in another article.
